South Korean smart device maker Samsung said on Thursday that it plans to start producing its high-end Galaxy S23 smartphone in India to meet local demand, PTI reported.
All Galaxy S23 smartphones sold in India will be produced at the company’s Noida factory. Samsung already meets most of India’s domestic demand through local manufacturing at its Noida plant. The company’s decision to sell ‘Made in India’ Galaxy S23 smartphones demonstrates the company’s commitment to India’s manufacturing and growth story,” Samsung said in an official statement.
Currently, Samsung Galaxy S-series smartphones are manufactured in factories in Vietnam and then imported to India for sale. Also, according to the report, the launch price of the Galaxy S23 series in India will be between INR 75,000 and INR 155,000 per unit.
In the 2023 Union Budget, in 1Yingshi In February, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the removal of import duties on camera lenses, specifically the USB one for the Galaxy S series smartphones.
