As an actor, do you think the game is like the sims Born to talk to you – able to walk into other people’s lives?
I never thought about it, but it makes perfect sense. I am an entertainer. I act. I act. It doesn’t seem to be too far off the disconnect.
the sims It’s all about world building. Is KeyTV part of the world you build?
one hundred percent. I look at myself very objectively.not like i see myself as a the sims character, but in many ways, I see myself as planning things. I am very disciplined. Once I make up my mind to do something, I stick to it and figure out how to support it. As far as KeyTV is concerned, it’s something I started getting serious about a year ago. I’m really glad I’ve gotten to the point of posting. I look forward to continuing to build it. Always following my community of fans – the Keke Palmer brand – I wanted to introduce them to something that would transcend me personally.
These days, it’s a battle for people’s attention. The market is overcrowded. How does KeyTV cancel noise?
So last year was when I shot No, I think.did i shoot No last year? time flies.
Our relationship with time is weird right now.
Times are too weird for me right now because of Covid. That was after the peak of Covid, but in terms of keeping masks on, we’re still in a pandemic atmosphere, but people are outside.it’s summer and i’m shooting No. I am in a new place, personally and professionally. I also started thinking, OK, what else can I do but myself? How can I bring something that is not entirely up to me?
Is it trying to do something that you are not in the center of?
That’s it. As an entertainer, you’re always the anchor – and that’s not a bad thing – but really it all comes down to you in the end. When you think about creating intergenerational wealth or community wealth, you’re trying to take whatever you start or have and scale it outward. I think KeyTV has a voice for what I stand for, which is to educate, democratize and entertain.
I want to achieve [entertainment] It feels more accessible to people in our community, especially Black and brown people, who may not have immediate resources and access to the industry. I want to bridge that gap.
KeyTV is as focused on fairness behind the camera as it is in front of it. Having worked in Hollywood for so long, don’t you see that inclusion on set?
It will depend. Whenever I worked on the Tyler Perry set, yes.when i do house of pain or Mada’s Family Reunion, there are always a lot of black people. That was before it became a trendy thing. Now it’s a thing. Back when I was 11 or 12, nobody cared about hiring any black people. Every time I set foot on a Tyler Perry set, everyone is black. It’s the best thing. It’s like being at a family reunion.
