There are also ways to extend the life of your laptop battery.On macOS, you can go to Battery Enable special low power mode from system settings to reduce strain on battery.On Windows, select Power and battery Find similar battery saving features from settings. Turning down the display brightness can also help.
Depending on your situation and budget, you might also want to add a tablet. Tablets like the iPad, Amazon Fire, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S series can all be repurposed as makeshift laptops by adding a keyboard cover, so they’re useful backups if your main computer fails.

By investing in a power bank, you can keep your laptops, tablets, and phones going longer during power outages because you can also charge them. There are plenty of smaller devices in this category, like the $24 Anker PowerCore 10000, which has enough power to charge a phone three or four times, but for a laptop, you’ll want something bigger.
