It does seem to help him grow up, or become more confident.
Hayward: He did become more responsible. If you have children, you become more responsible. It makes you grow up. And I don’t want to spoil things, but it also made him stand up for himself and have more confidence in talking to people.
have a job Brian and Charles So many years for the two of you to think more about artificial intelligence? Did you understand? Do you have thoughts about pleasure or danger?
Hayward: I look at artificial intelligence stuff a lot and it scares me to a large extent. When I saw these robots…there was a video of these big robots doing parkour and I looked at it and I just thought, “These things might be knocking on my door at some point in the future and pushing us all into On the street.” Whenever I hear about robots, it’s like, “Oh, we’re going to put weapons on drones now,” and you’re like, “Oh, okay.”
I mean, if the pinnacle of AI is Charles, we’ll be fine because we can push those robots over there. But I’m more worried about the robot dogs I’ve seen in the videos, walking around trying to attack.
They are really scary. If they made them look like Charles, we’d all join in, but they just look like War Machines.
Hayward: Exactly. It’s those weird dogs that walk with their arms bent. Like, “What? What is that? Why are you doing this? What will it do?”
count: I just buried my head in the sand. I don’t know anything about it.
Playing a role over the course of many years is not something we see very often in America, although it does happen. This tradition is even stronger in the UK, where a character can go through multiple projects and decades.
What do you think keeps you going back to Brian? Have you got hold of him, or are you still trying to figure him out?
count: I think it’s just looking for an item. As we write this article, life after At the same time, I didn’t really think about the future. Eighteen months later, the two projects were launched at the same time and had the same characteristics. I really didn’t think ahead.
Been just trying to find a project to get Brian involved. I wanted to find a story to involve him. And, now, I find it easy to fall into these habits and react to other characters and robots. It’s like a habit.
Does Brian Have Your Germs? Is Brian just your enhanced, downgraded or parallel version?
count: I don’t know what Brian is because there are so many different incarnations. He went from shy to rude, from aggressive to joking. I don’t know what he is.
So, I have to ask, how does the Charles costume actually work? It looks obvious, but what is it like inside?
Hayward: So, it is a reinforced cardboard box. The mannequin head is on a stick that you can use to pick up litter, and what you pick up is the mouth. I operate the head with one hand and the other arm out to the side. So I have one arm that can move and the other arm fake.
I also put a large set of armor on my calves, like the knight armor on my legs, to make the knees a bit articulate. We always try to make the legs look less human. So I had to put on big fluffy panties and put as many sequins as possible to make it not look like my slender legs. Except for the blue eyes, go for it, that’s Charles.
count: We always want the audience to say, “Okay, that’s just a guy in a box.” It’s just about being cheeky.
