Amazon Prime Day It’s a two-day sale where Prime subscribers can find exclusive deals on hundreds of products at the online retailer, but there are plenty of other discounts for non-members. This year, Prime Day is set for July 12 and 13, but you can already get some pretty good deals on some of our favorite things. From Amazon Fire-enabled TVs and speakers to third-party devices, here are some of our favorite early Prime Day 2022 deals.

This is most of our favorite TV (9/10, WIRED recommendation), and it’s the lowest price we’ve tracked for a 55-inch model. It has a quantum dot panel that delivers bright colors and utilizes local dimming zones to deliver deeper blacks for your movies and shows. It has a built-in Roku interface, and the Micro-LED backlight provides excellent contrast. This deal is also available at Walmart.
This is one of the most beautiful TVs we’ve tested. The bezels are ultra-thin, the OLED panel is fantastic, offers deep blacks and rich colors, and it has an Android TV interface, which means you can cast to it from your phone, too. It has odd feet on the ends, so unless you have a large TV stand, it’s best to mount it on the wall.
This is Hisense’s basic entry-level TV, but we love the brand and trust its build quality, unlike some other generic Amazon TVs we haven’t tested. You get Dolby Vision high dynamic range support (read: prettier colors), as well as built-in Fire TV for streaming your favorite Amazon shows.
If you’ve been shopping for an extra-large screen, this is one of the best discounts we’ve seen on a 75-inch model in months. It comes with Fire TV for easy streaming and Amazon shopping, plus full-array local dimming means black levels and highlights look better than cheaper screens.

We’re big fans of the Pixel 6 Pro (9/10, recommended by WIRED), which takes great photos, especially with its optical 4X telephoto camera. It has a gorgeous 120-Hz OLED screen and packs a ton of smart software features that make using this phone a pleasure. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro may arrive later this year, but it’s still a solid option that will last a while.
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 (9/10, recommended by WIRED) is an excellent all-around high-end Android phone. It excels in just about every category, and it will even get a longer Android version upgrade than the aforementioned Google Pixel (weird, considering Google maintains the Android OS). The S22 is a decent size, and this sale is for the version with 256 GB of storage. If you want a bigger phone, the S22 Ultra is $1,000. It has a spectacular 10x optical zoom camera that allows you to take sharp pictures of distant objects.
The A53 5G (8/10, recommended by WIRED) has pretty much everything most people need, including 5G, NFC for contactless payments, more than a day of battery life, IP67 water resistance, and a MicroSD card slot. Then it goes a step further, offering premium perks like a 120-Hz AMOLED screen, four OS upgrades, and five years of security updates. At this price, it’s an extraordinary value.
WIRED senior associate editor Adrienne So calls the Apple Watch SE (8/10, WIRED’s recommendation) the best Apple Watch for most people, making this a great time to grab it at a discount. It doesn’t have all the health features of the high-end Apple Watch Series 7, but it has most of the features that matter every day. Read our Apple Watch guide for more details.
The M1 chip brings a notable and swift departure from Apple’s longstanding Intel processors, giving those of us working on the go more power for photo editing, music production, and countless Chrome tabs. There’s a new MacBook Air coming next month (and it’s going to be a little more expensive than the current version), but this 2020 model (9/10, recommended by WIRED) is still pretty good.
The Pixelbook Go is a bit old, but it’s still a great, no-frills laptop. It’s a Chromebook, so it’s a good choice for anyone who can work completely away from the Chrome browser (though Android apps are available through the Google Play Store). Read our guide to the best Chromebooks for more details.
You’ll need to purchase a keyboard accessory to get the most out of this small Windows laptop (any bluetooth keyboard will work too). The Surface Go 3 isn’t very powerful, but it’s more than enough for simple tasks like browsing the web, sending emails, editing documents, and watching YouTube.
Amazon Device Deals
If you’re in a hurry, these are some solid discounts on Amazon-made hardware. However, it’s important to know that these devices may drop further on Prime Day itself. Check out our guides to the best Amazon smart speakers, best smart displays, and best streaming sticks to learn more.
I love the Echo Dots (8/10, recommended by WIRED) more than any other smart speaker. They’re tiny, sound pretty good, and are great for sleep sounds, timers, and a quick weather check. Last Prime Day, with prices as low as $25, it was worth the wait. Be sure to read our guide on how to keep your Amazon Echo as private as possible.
Ever been troubled by not being able to find your favorite show or movie? Amazon is probably your best bet, as it has tons of rental and buying options (besides free Amazon Prime Video content). The included voice remote makes navigation even easier. The device may drop to $25 on Prime Day. We still generally prefer Roku and Google’s Chromecast With Google TV streaming stick, so check out our full recommendation before submitting.
That’s the lowest price we’ve tracked for the Fire TV Cube. If you want to control your entire home theater system with your voice, the Fire TV Cube is a great option. Just connect all your players and gaming systems to your cube and use voice commands to turn things on and off. Although as we pointed out in the comments, things don’t always go so smoothly.
The Echo Show 15 is a great way to hang photos of loved ones on the wall, while the Echo Show 5 is a great way to set timers, follow recipes, and check the weather. I like to use one on the wall in the living room and the other in my kitchen. Read our guide to the best smart displays for more options.
