There are also some handy settings that are not enabled by default, you can click the advanced settings in Notification Center. The first is to turn on show all notifications. Instead of the three notification icons in the upper left corner of the screen in the status bar, you will see any notifications that have not been acknowledged.you should also open notification history— Handy when you accidentally slide a notification away before you have a chance to read it.I also like to use the snooze feature to remind myself of notifications later in the day, you can tap Show snooze button Open it. (You’ll see a little bell icon in the lower right corner of notifications; press that to snooze them.)
Stay always-on shows…always-on
The always-on display lets you quickly check the time or any pending notifications while glancing at your phone, but by default this feature is set to click to show, which means you need to tap the screen to see the always-on display. Bizarre. To fix this, go to the Settings > Lock screen > Always-on display and select always show. it Do Drains more battery life, but worth trying to see how much. I find it more useful to wear it. Here you can also customize how the clock looks on the lock screen.
Wake phone when picked up
You can wake up your Samsung Galaxy phone without tapping the screen when you pick it up. You can also double-tap the screen to turn it on, and double-tap again to turn it off. Reading a web page screen times out and closes? There are solutions too.go Settings > Advanced Features > Motions & Gestures and turn on lift to wake up, Double tap to open the screen, Double tap to turn off the screenand Keep screen on while watching. Now the screen will not turn off as long as you are looking directly at it.
disable samsung wallet swipe up
Samsung by Julian Chokkattu
If you have gesture navigation turned on, you’ll immediately realize how annoying Samsung Wallet is by default when you swipe from the bottom edge of the screen. Sure, it’s a quick way to access your credit card, but it’s easy to accidentally trigger when you just want to see recently used apps.If you use Samsung Wallet, you can do this by going to menu tab in the application and click the gear icon, then quick access. tap Access location and default card and close lock screen, Home screenand screen off. Don’t use Samsung Wallet at all?Just press and hold the icon in the app drawer, then tap uninstall.
Delete folders in the app drawer
Seeing folders in the app drawer annoys me. When I do a quick search for an app and don’t find it in the list, it’s usually because it’s in a folder. When I set up a new Samsung phone, one of the first things I do is sort the app drawer alphabetically. To do this, swipe up from the home screen to access the app drawer, then tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner.tap type and select alphabetically. If you really like folders in your app drawer, just hold and drag an app on top of another to create one. However, if you don’t need them, press and hold any folder you find in the app drawer, then tap delete folder.
close edge panel
See that translucent pane on the right edge of the screen? Did you accidentally open it when you meant to swipe back and go to the previous page or app? Me too. This is called the Edge panel, and it’s a hidden panel that gives you instant access to a set of apps (of your choice). It’s like a persistent dock.
This can be very useful, so I encourage you to try it out first. Open it and tap the gear icon at the bottom to customize it and choose the app or panel you want (you can have it show contacts, weather, and more).you can also go Settings > Display > Edge Panel > Gamepad Adjust the position of the panel and change the transparency, size, etc., which may be harder to trigger accidentally. If you just want to close the edge panel, go to Settings > Display > and close Sideboard.
Reorder your quick settings tiles
Samsung by Julian Chokkattu
The quick settings tile when you pull down the notification drawer is useful, whether you want to quickly turn on the flashlight or use Do Not Disturb mode. When you first set up your Samsung phone, the layout might be a little weird, but don’t worry, you can rearrange it. Swipe down twice from the home screen until you see a vertical triple button icon in the upper right corner of the notification drawer.then click this edit button. You can press and hold on any of the tiles to move them, and even hide tiles you don’t use (and find tiles you might be hiding).according to complete.
open palette
Want to match your phone’s system theme with your wallpaper?Press and hold anywhere on the home screen until you see the home screen settings menu, then tap wallpapers and styles. tap palette, and turn it on. You can choose from a set of colors it pulls from your wallpaper, or a set of basic colors.to switch Apply a color palette to the app icon for a more cohesive look, although this only works if the app supports that feature (most first-party apps do).
extend your grid
Want to add more space to your home screen? You can adjust the grid layout to add more rows and columns to fit more content on the screen. Press and hold anywhere on the home screen to see the home screen settings menu.tap set up > Home screen grid And experiment with different grid sizes to see what works for you.I prefer to maximize it 5X6. You can do this by going to App screen grid and folder gridalthough I prefer 5X5 and 4X4 respectively.
Turn on battery saver
Samsung by Julian Chokkattu
If you plan on sticking with your smartphone for years (and you should), you’ll want to protect your battery at all costs. Try to keep your phone between 50% and 80% charged, as draining your phone completely or keeping it fully charged will reduce battery efficiency over time.Samsung has a feature that can help with this – go to Settings > Battery & device care > Battery > More battery settings and turn on battery protection. This will limit the maximum charge to 85%, thus prolonging the life of the phone.this Do Means a permanent loss of 15% per day, but try it out for a few days and see how much it affects your usage. You can find tips on how to conserve smartphone battery life here.
Turn on Dolby Atmos
Samsung brags that its phones support Dolby Atmos for richer audio, but the feature is turned off by default. To open it, go to Settings > Sounds and vibrations > Sound quality and effects. Open Dolby Atmos. I usually set it to “Auto” and there is a slightly noticeable difference in audio quality – music generally sounds louder and more punchy. Here you’ll find other sound settings you can use, such as the Equalizer and Adjust Sound features, to adjust the audio to your ears.
Get rid of bloatware
Years ago, Samsung didn’t let you uninstall a lot of bloatware — apps that were redundant or you didn’t want to use. Today, you can uninstall most of these apps.Just tap and hold an app in the app drawer or home screen, then press uninstall. If you can’t uninstall them, you can at least disabled They so they disappear from view. This now works with Samsung’s Calendar app, which was previously difficult to get rid of.
If you can’t uninstall or disable an app, your next best option is to hide it.Open the app drawer, tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner, tap set up, and scroll down to Hide apps on Home and Apps screens. Tap the app you want to hide and that’s it!
enable link to windows
Have a Windows PC? You can connect your Samsung phone to make and receive calls, view texts and photos, and even use your phone apps in Windows right from your machine. On Windows, open the Microsoft Store app and search for and install phone link. switch your keyboard
Samsung by Julian Chokkattu
If you’re constantly frustrated with Samsung’s default keyboard, you’re not alone. I prefer Gboard, Google’s keyboard app. The good news is that replacing the keyboard is easy!Once you’ve downloaded the keyboard you want, whether it’s Gboard or another third-party app, go to Settings > General Management > Keyboard List and Default then click default keyboard. You may need to open a new keyboard in this menu first.back to General management then click Gboard settings Customize it to your liking.
open smart lock
Android has long had a feature that keeps your phone unlocked when you’re connected to another device via Bluetooth, like a car or a smartwatch, or when you’re in a specific location, like your home.If you don’t feel comfortable unlocking your phone in these situations, don’t turn this feature on, but if it’s convenient for you, go to Settings > Lock Screen > Smart Lock play around with it.I usually prefer to open trusted device And select my car so I don’t need to bother with passcodes or fingerprints while driving (not that I’m actively using my phone while driving).but I prefer to use Smart Lock’s trustworthy place Basically disable the ability to lock the screen passcode when I’m at home.
Adding emergency contacts and emergency sharing
It’s smart to keep your emergency contacts on your smartphone. To add people, you can go to Settings > Safety & Emergency > Emergency Contacts And add friends and family from your contacts.Go back to the previous menu and make sure SOS is open. This allows you to call emergency services by pressing the power key five times to start a 10-second countdown.Open Share information with emergency contacts put them in a loop, this will take you to emergency sharing set up. You can choose to allow the phone to send pictures from the front and rear cameras, as well as audio recordings, when it sends your location to your emergency contacts. It also adds a warning if your Galaxy phone’s battery is dying.
