This headset from Logitech is one of our favorites, especially for PC and PlayStation players. It’s lightweight, supports excellent DTX:S object-based surround sound, and for PC players, the powerful G Hub software adds tons of extra EQ features so you can fine-tune your sound.
If you’re more of an Xbox user, this SteelSeries 9X headset is a great option. It pairs directly with your Xbox Series X/S, no dongle required, it has a retractable microphone, and it monitors your own input well so you can avoid yelling at your teammates . Accidentally, anyway.

If you prefer the Switch Lite (8/10, recommended by WIRED) to the Switch, chances are good that you’ll travel more with the Switch than the average person. It comes with a slot for multiple games, extra space for accessories like headphones or spare Joy-Cons, and an interior cover that protects the screen from scratches from all of the above.
The awesome Switch is portable. It also means it’s more prone to scratches, bumps and damage than other consoles. So, just like your phone, it’s best to cover the display with a screen protector. This one from amFilm is one of our favorites, and it’s even cheaper than the usual bargains.
To further protect your Switch and give yourself a little more grip on those less-than-ergonomic Joy-Con controllers, this Orzly grip wraps around your entire Switch, controllers and everything. Check out our guide to the best switch accessories for more information.
